USTA Florida Opens First Nomination Period for Section Awards

Jaret Kappelman | January 14, 2024

USTA Florida is happy to announce that Section Awards nominations are now being accepted! There are so many individuals within the state that go above and beyond for the sport and the organization wants to recognize those people.

The USTA Florida Section Awards recognize excellence across various categories, spanning from players and coaches to volunteers and communities. This prestigious occasion not only highlights outstanding performances on the court but also pays tribute to the behind-the-scenes efforts that make tennis the sport it is today.

Beginning on January 15, 2024, the first nomination period will open. This cycle will include the Merit Award, Outstanding Tennis Family, and Outstanding Member Organization awards. Nominations will close on March 5, 2024. The criteria for these awards are listed below:

  • Merit Award - This award recognizes individuals who are most deserving of the respect and honor of all volunteers. Over time, they contributed to amateur tennis as a volunteer representing USTA Florida. They have made a significant impact through their efforts of cooperation, commitment, active participation, and accomplishments.
  • Outstanding Family - This award recognizes a family who has contributed the most by promoting tennis in Florida at all levels of participation.
  • Outstanding Member Organization - This award recognizes a current USTA Florida Member Organization that best exemplifies service to the community, service to its members through junior and adult programs, and service to the game of tennis.

To nominate someone, you must complete this form, which will ask for the nominators and nominee’s contact information. The nominator will select which award they are picking someone for and then after submitting, the USTA Florida awards committee will review the submission.

All selections for the awards will be made by March 8, 2024, with the presentation of these awards coming later in the year.
