Top three during week five of national championships

Two teams from USTA Mid-Atlantic placed in the top three at the 2023 Adult League Nationals held at San Diego, Ca. and Surprise, Az. on Oct. 27-29.

 

The men’s tennis team from Northern Virginia, the VN Racqueteers, finished third after winning their consolation match against the Midwest team 3-1 at the USTA League 40 & Over 4.0 Men’s National Championships held at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Ca. 

 

The High Rollers, the team representing USTA Mid-Atlantic during the Adult 18 & Over 10.0 Mixed National Championships, also placed third after defeating Northern California’s team 2-1. The championships occurred at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex in Surprise, Az.

 

VN Racqueteers was captained by Le Pham and Co-Captain Trinity Hua. Players included were Rodrigo Garcia, Jumpei Nakamura, Tuan Pham, Eric Nguyen, Dung Bui, Quang Nguyen, Mitsuru Tanaka, Charles Phan, Duy Vo, Bao Khang Vguyen, Duy Nguyen-Khoa, and Nhat Nguyen.

 

Anthony Acosta captained the High Rollers. Players included were Anastasia Putilina, John Mook, Jenna Hagood, Ruya Kor, Ekaterina Potapova, Rory Smith, Patrick Brick, Matthew Lennox, Matt Stillwagon, Chris Czerwinski, Brian Randolph, Valeriya Kolegova, Elizabeth Larson, Jessica Doan, Patrick Hughes, Lustin Baciu, Daria Panova, Assel Jummamukhambetova, and Mehbran Iranshad.
