The work of the Chicago District Tennis Association (CDTA) is dependent on passionate advocates like you who dedicate their time to growing and strengthening the game of tennis. Some play and want to give back to a game that has given them so much; many hope to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

CDTA is currently recruiting volunteers for the upcoming 2021 calendar year to serve as part of its Adult Play Committee which consists of 3 teams:

  • Administration – creates and interprets rules and procedures for USTA Leagues that are part of the track that advances to State, Sectional, and National Championship events
  • Growth – identifies opportunities for and limitations to growth of the USTA Adult League program and develops additional complementary play opportunities for adults
  • Events & Championships – leads planning effort for Flight Playoffs, District League Championships, and State Championships hosted by the District

Specific goals include reimagining and developing Adult tennis, integrating high performance principles and practices, increasing tennis participation and customer satisfaction, and optimizing the delivery of the USTA Adult League program, social leagues, adaptive tennis, cardio tennis, adult tournaments, and more!

Among the requirements to serve are:

  • Current USTA membership and Safe Play registration
  • Proficiency with online communications
  • Familiarity with TennisLink
  • Availability to attend at least four Committee meetings each year
  • Active participation at all meetings and on conference calls
  • Willingness to accept and complete assignments as needed to advance the work of the group
