Player News
Cincinnati Open
On Aug. 15, USTA Midwest hosted a Player Development Camp on the grounds of the Cincinnati Open. The camp brought together some of our 14U players and high-performance coaches, including Brian Schubert, Lynn McNally, Jason Winegar and Brad Seymour. The coaches led players through a variety of drills, point play and games. Campers even had the unique opportunity to interact with tennis professional Caty McNally, who talked about her journey to go pro!
USTA National Championships
Players from all over the U.S. gave it their all at the 2025 USTA National Championships with the winners of the boys' and girls' 18s titles earning US Open main draw wild cards.

G12s Singles Finalist: Noa Boar, Southeastern Michigan
B12s Doubles Champion: Evan Fan, Ohio Valley

2025 Midwest Awards
Every year, the section honors dedicated individuals and organizations who support the section's mission to grow tennis to inspire healthier people and communities everywhere.
Congratulations to Keenan Haws from Wisconsin who was awarded the Wallace R. Holzman, Sr. Junior Male Player Award. The award recognizes an outstanding player from the section based on achievement, character and sportsmanship. As a high school freshman, Keenan showed exceptional leadership by setting a goal to grow his high school tennis program through social media awareness and inviting more students to play.
Courts Honor A. David Filer
In South Bend, Ind., the Leeper Park tennis courts recently underwent construction and were renamed in honor of the life of junior tennis standout, A. David Filer.
