For many of our Northeastern Ohio high school seniors, their final season was cut short. As our way of celebrating all of these wonderful players, we have gathered stories from across Northeastern Ohio to celebrate our amazing class of 2020! Congratulations on a great high school tennis career, we can't wait to see what's in store next.
Spencer Rodgers, Hudson High School

What will you miss most about high school tennis?

What I will miss most about high school tennis is the camaraderie with the players and the van rides to and from the matches where we all would joke about things, win or lose.

What is your high school coach’s most memorable saying?

My high school coach's most memorable saying is, "Don't be a hero," meaning don't try to hit a winner off the first ball, but play smart and rally.

What are your plans for playing tennis after high school?

I plan to try out for the Club Tennis team at Arizona State University, play on USTA teams in the summer and teach tennis to younger kids.

What is your go-to shot on court?

My go-to-shot on court is my serve, being 6'4" tall enables me to get a great angle which allows me to win points before they even begin.
