April 2026: What’s Ahead for USTA Northern Indiana
April is shaping up to be a busy and exciting month across USTA Northern Indiana, with league play transitioning into postseason, junior tournaments filling the calendar and new opportunities for players, coaches and communities to get involved. From upcoming playoffs and league registrations to special events and national programming, there’s plenty happening both on and off the court.
Adult Leagues
Mixed Doubles play is wrapping up this month, with District Playoffs taking place May 9 at Wildwood Racquet + Wellness Club in Fort Wayne.
Adult 55 & Over league play is about to begin in Fort Wayne. Players who have not yet registered should contact Frank Suarez at franksusta@gmail.com.
Registration for adult summer leagues will be opening soon, so now is the time to begin organizing teams. Contacts remain the same for league participation: Patty Schrock at schrocktennis@aol.com for the South Bend area and Frank Suarez at franksusta@gmail.com for the Fort Wayne area.
Junior Tournaments

April Level 6 Junior Tournaments:

- April 17–19: Mishawaka, South Bend Racquet Club
- April 24–26: Griffith, Match Point Tennis & Fitness Club
Junior Circuit:
- April 17: Niles, Mich., Lakeland Academy of Tennis

Grants & Scholarships
Individual and organization grants are now open, with 14 different scholarship opportunities available. The application period closes April 15. Apply here.
Midwest & Section Events
A Blind Tennis training will be held on April 12 at the USTA Midwest Tennis Center in Indianapolis from 9:45 AM – 6:00 PM EDT. This free training provides instruction on teaching and assisting blind and visually impaired tennis players, followed by a TRY IT clinic for participants.
A USTA Coaching Workshop will take place on April 11 from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM EDT at the USTA Midwest Tennis Center in Indianapolis. These in-person workshops focus on hands-on learning, real-time feedback and practical coaching strategies to enhance player experience. Registration is $40. Coaches can register at ustacoaching.com by logging into their account and navigating to the events page. A free Baseline membership option is also available for those not yet members.

The USTA and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) are partnering to offer a college recruiting education webinar series.
