What does January bring for USTA Northern Indiana?

Adult Combo Doubles leagues are going on in South Bend, while Fort Wayne has finished the Combo season. South Bend Combo has 220 players (12 teams) while Fort Wayne had 268 players (17 teams). South Bend local playoffs will be held at South Bend Racquet Club on Feb. 7 followed by district playoffs on Feb. 8.

 

Registration for Mixed Doubles (18 & Over and 40 & Over) is open. To register, Fort Wayne players can contact Frank Suarez at franksusta@gmail.com. South Bend players can contact Patty Schrock at schrocktennis@aol.com. Divisions are 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0 (if there are enough players for two teams).

 
Last year Fort Wayne had 434 players (Mixed 18 & Over and 40 & Over), and South Bend had 113 players in 18 & Over.

 

Janury Level 6 Junior Tournaments

Jan. 2-4: Fort Wayne, Wildwood Racquet and Wellness Club

Jan. 2-4: South Bend, South Bend Racquet Club

Jan. 9-11: Greentown, Howard County Indoor Tennis Center

Jan. 16-18: Elkhart, Eastlake Athletic Club

Jan. 23-25: Griffith, Match Point Tennis Club

Jan. 30-Feb. 1: Niles, Mich., Lakeland Athletic Club

 

January Level 5 Junior Tournaments:

G14&18 - Jan. 10-11: Niles, Mich., Lakeland Athletic Club

BG12 - Jan. 24-25: Niles, Mich., Lakeland Athletic Club

 

Midwest News

USTA Midwest is hosting a Facility Summit for clubs within a two and a half hour drive of Indianapolis on Jan. 29 at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis. District Executive Directors are invited to attend. We hope to see some Northern Indiana clubs there!

 

The USTA Midwest Section Annual Meeting is taking place Friday, Jan. 30-Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis. Brent and Gene are invited to attend. Patty Schrock and Jennifer Reives will be in attendance as they both are involved with Midwest Section

committees. The District Executive Director, Jeanne French, will be there as well.

 

Northern Indiana Yearbook

Our annual yearbook continues to be one of the ways we communicate with our members. All donations are welcomed as this helps financially! Letters were recently sent to all district members.
