2026 USTA Missouri Valley National Tennis Month Proclamations
May is National Tennis Month, and communities throughout USTA Missouri Valley are helping to make it known! Throughout the five-state area, proclamations have been made at the city and state levels proudly declaring May as National Tennis Month.
Below you can find a running list of all the proclamations issued so far this year as well as photos of them being received and links to the proclamation documents.

State Proclamations
April 30 - Kansas Proclamation
USTA Missouri Valley received the Kansas Proclamation on April 30th at the Kansas State Capitol. Pictured with Kansas Governor Laura Kelly is: Marissa Moment Brown, Cary Morris, Amy Mathew, Alexis Czapinski, Mike Monaghan, Cortnie Sanders, Melissa Davis and Macy Mathew.

May 6- Missouri
On May 6, USTA Missouri Valley received the Missouri Proclamation declaring May as National Tennis Month. You can view the proclamation here.
May 13- Oklahoma Proclamation
On May 13, USTA Missouri Valley received the Oklahoma Proclamation at the Oklahoma State Capitol. Eric Wedemeyer and Tony Mullican attended on behalf of the section and district. You can view the proclamation here.
May 19- Nebraska Proclamation
USTA Missouri Valley will received the Nebraska proclamation on May 19 at the Nebraska State Capitol. Jason McFarley, Peter Kobelt, Kara Heim and Mary Buschmann were in attendance.
City Proclmations
April 7- Midwest City, Oklahoma
Midwest City, Oklahoma issued a proclamation on April 7 declaring May as National Tennis Month! USTA Oklahoma Executive Director, David Minihan, received this proclamation (see pictured). This proclamation can be viewed here.
April 29 - Gladstone, Missouri | Liberty, Missouri | Overland Park, Kansas
On April 29, USTA Heart of America received three proclamations from cities within their district delcaring May as National Tennis Month!

May 4 - Bixby, Oklahoma
On May 4, the city of Bixby, Oklahoma declared May as National Tennis Month. You can view the proclamation here.
May 5- Guthrie, Oklahoma
Guthrie, Oklahoma declared May as National Tennis Month through a proclamation presented on May 5 at a city council meeting.
May 4- Independence, Missouri
On May 4, USTA Heart of America executive director Rebecca Falkner Axelrod received the Independence, Missouri proclamation declaring May as National Tennis Month. You can view this proclamation here.
May 18 - Prairie Village, Kansas
On May 18, USTA Heart of America executive director, Rebecca Falkner Axelrod, received the Prairie Village proclamation declaring May as National Tennis Month. You can view the proclamation here.
