Janet Glaser Honored as National Finalist

Kendra Wicks | September 26, 2019

USTA Kansas Junior Team Tennis Coordinator Janet Glaser was a finalist for the USTA National Junior Team Tennis Coordinator Award. She has won the award at the sectional level and been in the running for national recognition several times.

“I was really honored to be nominated and then to dance this far,” Janet Glaser said. “They go down to about four or five of us in the nation as finalists.”

Glaser has been serving as the Kansas Junior Team Tennis coordinator for several years. She continues to pour her passion for tennis into the program and the kids that it reaches.

“Organizing this is a huge thing,” Glaser said. “You have to work with facilities, coaches, parents and kids. It’s really getting a lot of people together.”

Despite the challenges of the job, Glaser enjoys the program and the impact it has on the players who participate.

“JTT is a competitive and social thing,” Glaser said. “It’s all about having fun while playing tennis.”

In August of 2019, Glaser was presented with the National Coach of the Year award through the KSHSAA Coaching School. Read more about her nationally recognized impact on Kansas tennis.
