Heart of America's New 18 to 39 League

December 04, 2018

USTA Heart of America is introducing a new league for players ages 18 to 39. It will be an opportunity for players to play against players of a similar age and skill level within the Kansas City area.

The league will consist of one singles and two doubles. Both men and women will play on Sunday night at Overland Park Racquet Club beginning in late-winter. The club will be offering happy hour during the matches.

The total amount of players per team will be 12. Similar to the 40 & over league, you can add 3 higher level players to each team.  For example three 5.0-level players on a 4.5 team,  three 4.5-level players on a 4.0 team, three 4.0-level players on a 3.5 team, etc. The higher level players must play court 1 doubles. Only two higher level players can play each match.

Captains will be able to register a team for $10. Registration for players will be $5.00 + $3.00 TennisLink fee.  Captains will receive free registration when registering as a player for their team.

While all districts within the USTA Missouri Valley are working to organize similar leagues, there are currently no advancement opportunities beyond the local league. It is our hope that in the future, USTA Heart of America will host a section-level invitational for the league.

If you are interested in being a Captain for this league or would like to be included as a player, please contact Marcia Jacelone at mjacelone333@gmail.com
