2022 MoKanNeb Tournament Series Wraps Up–Here Are Your Winners!

Sydney Hamilton | August 25, 2022

The 2022 MoKanNeb Adult Tournament Series recently wrapped up and, after a long, hot summer packed with the highest levels of competition, we’re proud to announce the winners of the $500 prize money!

Each year, the MoKanNeb series affords Open-level players in both men’s and women’s divisions a shot at the prize money–all they need to do is compete in at least three of the four tournaments in the series to qualify. The male and female players who qualify and end up with the most amount of points win the grand prize at the end of the series.

On the men’s side, Jarrett Bowman of Lawrence, KS, played in all four of the tournaments in the series and ended up with 24 points–enough to earn him that sweet prize money. And on the women’s side, Hailey Vinroe, also of Lawrence, played in three of the four tournaments and scored the most points in the division, earning her prize money as well.

Something you might not know about this year’s winners is that they’re boyfriend and girlfriend! Jarrett and Hailey are both University of Kansas students who also play in the school’s Tennis on Campus program, so they’re always hitting the courts together and encouraging each other to be the best players they can be.

While Jarrett and Hailey both excel at singles, they’re also quite the force as a mixed doubles team. As part of the MoKanNeb series, they took first place in the Mixed Open Doubles draw of the Wichita MTC Open, and were runners-up in the HOA Kansas City Adult Open.

Congrats, Jarrett and Hailey, on winning the grand prize! And thank you to all who participated in this year’s MoKanNeb Tournament Series. We look forward to seeing you all hit the courts for next year’s series!
