Happy Holidays USTA Heart of America!
Happy Holidays USTA Heart of America! As we approach the end of 2023, we want to take some time to celebrate some of the ways we have grown the game of tennis this year. The number of junior tennis players participating in Team Challenges, Junior Circuit, Junior Team Tennis, and all levels of junior tournament play continued to increase.
USTA Heart of America League participation has grown to over 5,000 players. We also successfully launched new Tri-Level divisions. Nine of our USTA Heart of America League teams advanced to National League Championships. Our adult tournaments also experienced increased participation.
We hosted several specialty events this year that were very successful. A National level wheelchair tournament we hosted in May included a clinic to provide the community with a taste of participating in wheelchair tennis. We hosted our tenth consecutive year of the 65 & Over Sectional League Championships.
All of our successful programs and activities would not be possible without such a wonderful and engaging tennis community. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who help make tennis in USTA Heart of America possible: our facility partners, area tennis pros, our league coordinators, our officials, our tennis parents, our volunteers, our players. An additional thank you for the leadership and guidance of our president, Tracey Johnson, and our Board of Directors.
I hope everyone has a blessed and happy holiday season.
