USTA National Husband & Wife Doubles Championship Results
The competition was fierce at Overland Park Racquet Club in Overland Park, KS, during the 2023 USTA National Husband & Wife Doubles Championship. From June 16-18, betrothed couples from all over the U.S. hit the courts in Open and Combo 100s, 110s, 120s, 130s, and 140s divisions to battle it out for top honors in this year’s event.
Thankfully, the tournament was held indoors to help players beat the oppressive Kansas summer heat. Players in attendance were served a well-deserved lunch on Saturday to help them stay fueled for their matches.
California was well-represented in this year’s tournament, with three of the five divisions won by couples from the Golden State. Other winning teams hailed from Colorado Springs, CO, and right here in Kansas City.
Congratulations to the following teams on their big wins last month:
100 & Over: Daniel and Yuki Brandt, San Francisco, CA
110 & Over: Paul and Kathryn Settles, Claremont, CA
120 & Over: Thomas Verdi and Lorie Zacharias-Verdi, Kansas City, MO
130 & Over: Kurt and Julie Chan, Colorado Springs, CO
140 & Over: Norman and Gail Ashebrooke, Lakewood, CA
