Volunteers Needed
USTA Heart of America, partnering with Stephanie Waterman Foundation, has a great opportunity to volunteer this summer and help introduce more girls to tennis.
The group will be participating in Camp WIN. This camp has been operating with the Kansas City Sports Commission for 20+ years.
The event introduces girls in the community to approximately 14 sports/fitness activities and daily lessons that ensure campers walk away with life skills that can translate both on and off the field. Campers learn about Attitude, Preparation, Courage and Sportswomanship as they work through their lessons and push themselves to learn new sports.
In the morning, there will be 50 campers at the site simultaneously, so 6-8 volunteers will be needed. The afternoon sessions are smaller (25 at a time), but need a 2.5-hour commitment. Four volunteers will be needed per shift.
Volunteers will be teaching tennis to a small group, focused on fun & safety. Previous tennis experience preferred.
To register, please email Scott Hanover at ptcguy@yahoo.com. All registrations needed by Tuesday, June 1 at noon.
