Brenton Kuchera Gives 'State of USTA Iowa' Speech
USTA Iowa President Brenton Kuchera recently summarized the growth occurring within the district and vision for the upcoming years in a speech given at a district-wide meeting on March 3 in Ames. Some of the highlights of Kuchera’s annual report — which can be read in full by clicking here — were:
• An increase in the organization of community tennis associations (CTAs).
• Committees continuing to promote tennis, including in the areas of Tennis On Campus and wheelchair programming.
• Ongoing tennis programming for juniors and adults and the implementation of new programs.
• Collaborative communication efforts to ensure accessibility and inclusion within the district and USTA Missouri Valley.
“I can confidently tell you the tennis industry is booming and the business of Iowa tennis is solid,” Kuchera said. “There certainly are areas that we will continue to push and grow. Any program we implement for the first year or two will have elements that can be improved, and all feedback is appreciated. Our mission is to continue offering quality programming and seeking new and better ways of improving that programming; therefore, all voices matter.
“ … The future is bright, especially when we have partners that support us. Our section, our chairs, our executive board — we will continue swinging and taking our shot whatever the future brings.”
