Iowa Central Community College coach looking forward to new challenge
Isaac Pearlstone has been named the new men’s and women’s tennis head coach at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge. Pearlstone, a St. Louis native, is looking forward to getting started in his new role next month.
“I’m very excited about coaching at Iowa Central Community College,” Pearlstone said. “Both women’s and men’s tennis teams have consistently ranked nationally in the top 10. They have 12 courts (two indoor) and a Division-I type weight room and facilities. I’m excited to recruit great players and build great teams, and I aim to win national championships.”
Pearlstone was most recently the men’s tennis assistant coach at Saint Louis University, where he helped guide the team to a 15-6 season. He attended Truman State University in Kirksville, Mo., where he opted to play ultimate frisbee. Pearlstone worked as a special education teacher for five years and had goals to one day become a superintendent, but he is instead taking a different path.
“I have always had an incredible passion for tennis and helping people to reach their potential,” he said. “I love the process of building a team and have many experiences coaching various levels and people. In my opinion, it is the best job in the world.”
Pearstone added ICCC is always looking for tennis recruits and wants to serve the Iowa tennis community. Pearlstone encouraged potential players to contact him at isaacpearlstone@gmail.com.
“I look forward to engaging and working with USTA Iowa and this local community,” Pearlstone said, “to grow tennis and bring a national championship back to Iowa.”
