Wichita Hosts ALL Stars Event and Adaptive Section Championship
The Fred Johnson ALL Stars and USTA Missouri Valley Adaptive Section Championship events were hosted at Maize South High School in Wichita, Kan. on June 8-9.
The ALL Stars event provided an opportunity for adaptive players to work on their tennis skills and compete in friendly competition. The teams rotated through two sessions of doubles matches.
The USTA Missouri Valley Adaptive Section Championship allowed adaptive athletes and their partners to play in competitive doubles matches. The competition’s winners, athlete Haley Waggoner and partner Nancy Samson, will go on to compete in the USTA National Adaptive Championships.
The players and their families were provided with two lunches and a dinner throughout the two-day events, as well as a night of fun together at All-Star Sports. The event ended with award ceremonies for both groups of athletes.
