Introducing The Combo Adult League

Kendra Wicks | June 22, 2020

COVID-19 restrictions may have caused us to rethink our adult leagues, but it hasn’t stopped us from finding a way to play!

The Combo Adult League will provide an opportunity to compete in doubles play with players of different levels. It includes men’s and women’s 18 & Over with teams organized by combined NTRP ratings totaling 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, and 9.5.

“The skill levels per partnership are one half step above the traditional combined league levels. This encourages players of different levels to join together to take advantage of that extra half,” said District League Coordinator Amy Mathew. “For example, on a 7.5 team, the ideal partnership is a 4.0 with a 3.5. A combination of 3.5 and 3.5 would work too, but no greater than a .5 difference is allowed for this league.”

The Combo League is designed to switch up partnerships and encourage the social and competitive sides of tennis.

“Many of us have friends on another team of a different level, but we may never have the opportunity to play together,” Mathew said. “Combo is a fun way to build new teams, and new partnerships!”

Players can find Combo League information on TennisLink or our Facebook page. League play begins the second week of July.
