USTA Kansas indoor leagues reach new heights

Sydney Hamilton | February 08, 2025

Cold weather doesn’t keep USTA Kansas teams from keeping the competition hot! Indoor adult leagues kicked off in early January, and it’s already been one for the books. More than 30 teams registered to play in indoor leagues this season, which smashed last year’s record of 24 teams.

This can only mean one thing: USTA Kansas players are hungry for more opportunities to play.

“It's the largest league we’ve ever had in Kansas, which is a great sign for our district,” said Dylan Jones, USTA Kansas district league coordinator.

And more opportunities they are getting. More leagues—and, in turn, more open spots on teams—means more chances to hit the courts for fun, friendly competition and less time spent feeling the winter doldrums.

Another shift this season is the movement of 2.5 teams to the 3.0 level, which brings a higher level of competition for these players and creates a larger and more diverse 3.0 group across the state.

“We range from 2.5 level all the way to 5.0,” Jones said. “It’s only been two weeks of play so far, but it's going well.”

USTA Kansas is proud of all participants in this year’s historic indoor leagues season and thanks all the captains and coordinators for bringing even more opportunities to play at clubs and other facilities in our state. We appreciate you all, and wish you your most successful season yet!
