Three 18 & Over Mixed League Teams from Kansas Heading to Nationals
The 2023 USTA League season has proven to be a successful one for USTA Kansas teams. Our district was incredibly well-represented across the state, with several teams winning out at Section Championships and heading to Nationals!
Most recently, three teams from our district took home top honors at the 18 & Over Mixed Section Championships at Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka in September and will be headed to the National Championships in representation of USTA Missouri Valley. Please join us in congratulating the following teams:
7.0: Team Seitz/Ritter, captained by Ben Seitz and Scott Ritter
9.0: Team Jones, captained by Dylan Jones
10.0: Team Wegner/Jones, captained by Amy Wegner and Dylan Jones
The 7.0/9.0 teams will play at the USTA National Campus in Orlando November 10-12, while the 10.0 team will play in Surprize, AZ, at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex October 27-29.
Captain Dylan Jones loves how USTA League play can bring together players from diverse backgrounds to achieve a common goal: playing tennis at the highest level.
“We’re a team based out of Wichita and Lawrence, Kansas,” said Jones. “Most of us have played together for a few years now and about half the team went to Nationals last year at the 8.0 level. We’re excited to see how we compete at the 9.0 level this year.

“We have a fun mix of tennis pros, a nurse, a traffic engineer, and a college English professor [on our team],” Jones continued. “As a captain, I can say this has been a fun, no-drama group that plans on winning it all.
“We’re very excited to show the quality of tennis in our district.”
We wish Dylan and all the rest of the players participating in the USTA League National Championships this year the very best of luck. We’re all rooting for you!
