USTA Kansas Teams Headed to League National Championships

Sydney Hamilton | October 11, 2023

It’s been an exciting postseason for USTA Kansas leagues, with teams from our district squaring up against other skillful crews from the section during USTA League Section Championships.

In July, league teams descended upon Overland Park Racquet Club in Overland Park, KS, for the 2023 USTA Missouri Valley 65 & Over Section Championship. Then, in early August, the 2023 USTA Missouri Valley 18 & Over 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 Section Championship was held at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis. Last, but certainly not least, was the 2023 USTA Missouri Valley 18 & Over 2.5W, 3.5, 4.5, 55 & Over, 6.0, and 8.0 Section Championship, which took place in late August at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center in Oklahoma City, OK.

While the competition at all three tournaments was fierce, USTA Kansas is proud to announce that Team Jones, an 18 & Over 4.0 Men’s League team, and Team Wanless, a 55 & Over 7.0 Men’s League team, both from our district, won out in their divisions and will be competing at the USTA League National Championships later this fall.

Team Jones will play October 20-22 and Team Wanless will hit the courts October 27-29, both in Arizona.

Please join us in congratulating the players of Team Jones on their victory and wishing them the best of luck at Nationals! We’re all rooting for you.
