Junior Team Tennis Event Coming in August

While World TeamTennis is wrapping up its season in West Virginia, young athletes in Missouri will have their chance to try out the same format in late August.

Junior Team Tennis brings together boys and girls to play singles, doubles and mixed doubles against other coed teams, just like WTT. USTA Missouri’s Junior Team Tennis program was shut down for a while, but a special opportunity is coming soon.

Courtney Nesbitt, USTA Missouri’s Junior Competition Coordinator, is planning a one-day, 14-and-under Junior Team Tennis event in late August. Details on that event will be announced soon. Nesbitt said precautions will be taken at the Junior Team Tennis event to ensure everyone’s health and safety surrounding COVID-19 concerns.

“There will only be two teams playing at the site at once,” she said. “We will ask kids to bring their own seating and water.”
