Junior Team Tennis Returns in September

Jeff Kessinger | August 27, 2020

Junior Team Tennis is back this fall in USTA Missouri!

Courtney Nesbitt, Junior Competition Coordinator, put together an August event to lay the groundwork for the upcoming season. About 25 potential Junior Team Tennis Players participated.

“We had a one-day round-robin event at Capital City High School in Jefferson City,” Nesbitt said. “I did it to get the kids who are interested in Junior Team Tennis together so they could meet each other and, hopefully, team up for the fall. It was a fun day.”

The fall season is currently scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 20, and Sunday, Oct. 4. The locations are still to be determined, but Nesbitt said she’s looking at Columbia, Jefferson City and Springfield as possible sites.

“We’re doing an 18-and-under yellow ball co-ed league and a 12-and-under green dot ball co-ed league,” she said. “Teams must have a minimum of four players. People can reach out to me if they have a team or if they’re looking to be put on a team.”

Nesbitt’s email address is courtneytime2grow@outlook.com. Her phone number is 573-418-5481.

“We’re always looking for coaches and providers. Anyone interested in that can reach out to me, too. The more coaches and providers we have recruiting players, the better.”
