Players Find Recent Tournament Success

January 28, 2019

Over the last five years Cooper Tennis has hosted an Adult Tournament the first weekend of January. With limited indoor courts available a modified version of FAST4 was used to reduce the average length of matches and ensure the tournament was completed in one day.

Fast4 is also used during the same time at the Hopman Cup in Perth, Australia during a similar time. The popularity of the format continues to increase.

Congratulations to the following champions:

7.0 & Below Womens Doubles Team: Susy Barr & Peggy Lindsey

Mens Open Doubles Team: John XU & Chris Griesedieck

Mixed Open Doubles Team: Lucy Stein & Paul Nahon

The Boys 12 & Under Supers were held at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield. Local Players Caleb Kim and Austin Potter both advanced to the semi-finals. However both lost their semifinal match, respecitively. Kim and Potter played off for third place with Kim winning 6-3, 6-2. Just a week prior, Potter defeated Kim 8-4 in the consolation finals of the USTA Missouri designated closeed tournament.
