USTA Missouri expands reach, invites community to get involved

Sean Terry | January 08, 2026

The USTA Missouri district had an exciting 2025, and we are looking forward to growing our programs and participation in 2026.

We helped to set up new youth programs, revitalized and renewed old courts and offered a wide range of youth tournaments to adult leagues. Executive Director Leslie Echols and her staff made new connections throughout our large district and helped make programs run smoothly.

We are excited in 2026 to add a new Community Tennis Association (CTA), “Serving Missouri Tennis,” that is planning to support Pro Circuit tennis tournaments in our district and provide grants and programs for the future.

We are currently recruiting for the board and staff of the CTA and encourage all interested to apply.

Springfield and Columbia, Mo., continue to be strong contributors to our leagues and tournaments, and we hope to expand the opportunity to compete in places like Joplin, Rolla and Cape Girardeau.

I am proud to serve USTA Missouri tennis, and I invite everyone interested to get out and play, volunteer and help to grow the game in their own neighborhood and wherever they go.
