USTA Missouri serves up mixed leagues
Show off your competitive side and join a USTA Missouri mixed league! These fun-filled leagues are a great way to practice new strategies and play with a variety of different players.
“Mixed leagues are some of our most popular leagues each year,” said Stephanie Wachob, Springfield league coordinator. “They’re so fun because you get the opportunity to play against people you don’t normally play.”
Each team features men and women who play at a similar skill level. Matches consist of three doubles courts where each duo is comprised of one male and one female player. Below is a list of the upcoming league offerings.
Mixed 18+ 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 / Beginning June 23 and ending Aug. 8
Mixed 55+ 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 / Beginning Aug. 1 and ending Oct. 19
Tri-Level: The annual tri-level playoff is Oct. 5-6
The league schedule with exact practice and match dates, times and locations is yet to be determined. For teams in Columbia, matches are typically played at Bethel. For Springfield-based teams, matches are usually held at Cooper Tennis Complex.
Although there are always openings for new players, USTA Missouri is especially looking for 6.0 and 8.0 players and captains! If you are interested in captaining, click here to fill out an online form.
