USTA Missouri Adult Summer Leagues Coming Soon

Josh Sellmeyer | March 02, 2021

Leagues are forming in USTA Missouri for adult players looking to improve their tennis game in a fun and competitive environment. Interested individual players or teams can sign up for leagues that will take place in the two pockets of the Springfield area and Columbia area.

Courtney Nesbitt, USTA Missouri junior and adult competition coordinator, is currently requesting team captains to contact her with their intentions for league play this coming spring/summer.  At that point, Nesbitt will know the number of teams competing and will begin to produce league schedules.

Individuals interested in joining a team or league — or creating a team of their own — can likewise reach out to Nesbitt for placement help. Additionally, Nesbitt said there is a need for captains to emerge and form teams.

That is particularly true on the men’s side, as USTA Missouri would like to establish men’s leagues this year. Nesbitt noted these leagues may not start until closer to fall, She can be reached via email at: Courtneytime2grow@outlook.com

“Leagues are a very fun thing for adults to do,” Nesbitt said. “It gives them something to work for and toward compared to just going out and playing tennis for fun. It’s an opportunity to put your skills to the test.”

Adult leagues will occur within the May to August block of time depending on the league’s age level. All leagues take place outdoors in either the Springfield or Columbia pockets. Nesbitt said USTA Missouri hopes to offer all the women’s and mixed leagues listed below for the Springfield area this year. She added not every women’s and mixed league listed will be available for the Columbia area.
