USTA Missouri Changes 2020 Awards Format

Jeff Kessinger | July 28, 2020

The USTA Missouri annual awards will look a little different this year.

USTA Missouri will not hold their yearly awards meeting and banquet in November due to safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, but the good news is there will still be awards given to recognize the many deserving members of our tennis community. This year, the USTA Missouri staff will be selecting the winners and delivering the awards themselves.

“We will be presenting framed award certificates to a male and female junior for sportsmanship, and a male and female junior for Player of the Year at the November L5 Tournament,” USTA Missouri Executive Director Heidi Smith said. “There will also be Outstanding Captain of the Year certificates presented to one captain in Columbia and one in Springfield at this time.”

Despite this year being different from years past, there are still many tennis accomplishments to be celebrated. For more information about the 2020 USTA Missouri awards, contact Smith at hsmotennis@gmail.com.
