Four Players WIn Gold Balls

Several local players from the USTA Missouri Valley earned USTA Gold Balls this past weekend at the USTA 30s Men's, Women's and Mixed National Hard Court Championship. The event was held at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City.

 

Anthony Perkins of Lenexa, Kansas and Thiago Santos of Leawood, Kansas earned the men's doubles title defeating Christian Guevara and William Noblitt 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.

 

In women's doubles, Laryssa Booth of Overland Park, Kansas and Jackie Gehrke of Kansas City, Missouri defeated Michelle Hall and Lia Vernadaki, both of Overland Park, Kansas, 6-3, 6-2.

 

Finally, Santos and Hall teamed up to win the mixed doubles round robin division going 3-0 in their matches and not dropping a set.

 

The other champions are as follows:

Men's Singles: William Noblitt (Charlotte, North Carolina) d. Christian Guevara (Boca Raton, Florida) 0-6, 6-2, 6-2

Women's Singles: Imke Reimers (Somerville, Massachusetts) d. Michelle Hall (Overland Park, Kansas) 6-3, 6-3
