Campus Kids Day at UNL
On Sunday, March 3, more than two dozen kids came out to cheer on the Huskers kids and then learn how to play tennis! The Husker women’s tennis team took on the UNO Mavericks and after the match, a one-hour clinic was held for kids aged 12 and under for no charge. Members of both the men’s and women’s tennis teams helped out.
“We are thrilled to host Campus Kids Day and hope it can help grow and promote tennis in our community,” said Maddie Kobelt, assistant coach for the Husker Women’s team. “This is a wonderful opportunity for kids to experience a collegiate tennis match and then go out on the Nebraska courts and give tennis a try in a fun and exciting environment.”
This event was sponsored in part by USTA Nebraska. Members of the Lincoln Tennis Association also came out to volunteer their time.
