Nebraska Campus Kids Day

Andrea Gallagher | September 23, 2024

The University of Nebraska Husker tennis teams once again hosted a Campus Kids Day to give more kids the opportunity to try tennis. The free event was held Oct. 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dillon Tennis Center at 2400 N. Antelope Valley Parkway in Lincoln.

The event was open to all kids aged 12 and younger. It was recommended for participants to bring their own racquets, but if they didn't have one a racquet was provided. Players on both the men’s and women’s teams helped out during this fun day of instruction.

“We are excited to host a second Nebraska Campus Kids’ Day to continue to promote and grow tennis in our community,” said Maddie Kobelt, assistant coach for the Husker women’s tennis team, prior to the event. “This is a great opportunity for kids to get out on the Nebraska courts and play tennis in a fun and exciting environment.”

Walk-ins were also welcome. Following the event, kids cheered on the Husker women’s soccer team as they took on the University of Washington. The University of Nebraska tennis teams are hoping to run another similar event this spring.
