Sets and Sanitizer Is A Success

The Omaha Tennis Association put on a successful Sets and Sanitizer Tournament at Koch Family Tennis Center. The tournament started on Friday, July 3 for single gender doubles, and on Sunday, July 5, for mixed doubles action. It was a fast-four tournament where participants played multiple round-robin matches in three hours, while battling the heat.

“I liked the format because it allowed us to play multiple teams in a short amount of time,” said Tammy Tegler, who came up from Lincoln to play the tournament. “I would definitely do it again. It was fun to play against teams that are outside of my regular tennis circle.”

Afterwards, players were able to safely socialize with drinks and pre-boxed pizza from Pizza Pie Guys. More than 45 people signed up for the tournament.

“Everyone had a great time socializing while also socially distancing,” said Lisa Thomas, USTA Nebraska League Coordinator.
