USTA Nebraska Names New District League Coordinator
Omaha’s Jason Rodenberger is the new District League Coordinator for USTA Nebraska. Rodenberger is currently the girls’ and boys’ head tennis coach at Millard South High School. Originally from Oklahoma, he then moved to Kansas City and later attended Creighton University and the University of Nebraska - Omaha.
Among his goals in his new position, he hopes to be able to recruit younger players to USTA Leagues.
“The goal is to grow the sport and foster a healthy and competitive environment,” he said. “A lot of our high school athletes don't know that there are opportunities to play after their high school careers are done. I have a platform outside of the USTA to help make that happen.”
Rodenberg has played as a 4.0 player in the Omaha USTA Leagues for the past ten years. In this position, he replaces Kay Merkel, who stepped down earlier this summer.
