BCC Tennis Academy Captures USTA National Championship
Britton Christian Church Tennis Academy (BCCTA) out of Oklahoma City defeated Southern California 46-37 to capture the USTA Junior Team Tennis 14U National Championship Sunday at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
BCCTA is only the second team from the five-state Missouri Valley section to win a JTT National Championship and the first NJTL member to capture top honors.
BCCTA went 3-0 in pool play, upending Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and Arizona, and defeated Kansas City in Saturday’s semifinals. The academy qualified for nationals by winning the Oklahoma National Qualifier in June and Missouri Valley National Qualifier in July – completing its title run with a perfect 11-0 dual record.
The faith-based academy began fielding JTT teams in 2017, has captured 30 team titles at the local, state, regional and now national levels, winning .818 percent of its matches. Currently, BCCTA has 52 juniors ages 6 to 17 participating in year-round on-campus programming and at The Greens Country Club in Oklahoma City, a partnership in its ninth year.
Members of the 14U championship team, listed alphabetically: Gray and John Paul Dillon, Noah Gou, Tokara Henderson, London Marsh, Alma and Andrea Mendoza, Raleigh Miller, Braver Reineke, TJ Shanahan, and Levi Solomon. BCCTA is coached by Jessica Reineke, Brad Lund, Rob Braver and Mike Hays.
