USTA Oklahoma is now hiring! Love tennis and want to contribute to the tennis community? USTA Oklahoma is in search of a Local League Program Coordinator for the Oklahoma City area. The deadline to apply is July 6, 2022.

 

USTA Oklahoma Local League Program Coordinator

 

Area:  Oklahoma City Metro

Purpose: To coordinate and supervise USTA League Tennis at the local level.

Time Commitment: Dependent on size of local league program.  As program grows, additional volunteers are required for administration, marketing/sponsorship, publicity, and recruitment.

Supervisor:  District League Coordinator

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Working knowledge of the USTA League Tennis program
  • Ability to access TennisLink online
  • Current USTA member
  • General understanding of the goals and ideals of the USTA Missouri Valley 
  • May participate on a USTA league team, but may not captain a team

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop a local calendar of events that occur within the national, sectional and district deadlines.
  • Submit this calendar to the District League Coordinator for approval.  These events should include:
    • Informational Meetings
    • Team Captains’ Meetings
    • Roster Deadlines
    • Add-on Deadlines
    • Local League Season
    • Local play-offs dates & location
    • District, Sectional and National Championships
  • Develop a local plan for growth 
  • Recruit new players to the program
  • Distribute TennisLink information and regulations (national, sectional, district, local) to captains
  • Communicate with captains on a regular basis by e-mail, phone or mail
  • Order awards for local winning teams (this may be done by district office)
  • Attend Section Local League Coordinators meeting
  • Assist in running District and/or Section League Championships, as requested
  • Identify/resolve local league program issues while keeping the District League Coordinator informed of all decisions
