Oklahoma Coach Wins National Award
The awards and accolades continue to roll in for one of the top tennis coaches in Oklahoma. Kristin Liles has been named the National Girls Tennis Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). The honor caps off an amazing year for the Cascia Hall tennis coach, whose teams captured both the Boys and Girls 2021 state championships.
Liles, who has coached at Cascia Hall for 16 years, was also selected the Tulsa World Girls Coach of the Year for 2021, Tulsa World 5A Girls Tennis Coach of the Year, Oklahoma Tennis Coaches Association 4A Boys Coach of the Year and the NFHS Southwest Section Coach of the Year. It’s a list of awards she says wouldn’t be possible without the support of an amazing tennis family of players, parents, and alumni at Cascia Hall.
“The highlight for me that really stands out was at the state tournament last year,” said Liles. “My girls were all in the 5A finals on courts 1-4 at the Oklahoma City Tennis center playing for their championships, cheering together, and supporting each other”.
Throughout her career Liles has coached Cascia Hall to 11 OSSAA State Championships and had 57 individual champions. She is also a classroom teacher at Cascia Hall, instructing students in French, Latin and World Studies.
