Oklahoma Junior Team Tennis Section Qualifier Kicked Off
Some of the top junior tennis players in Oklahoma are on their way to the UTSA Missouri Valley Junior Team Tennis Section Championships later in July. The teams are advancing following their stellar performances at the Junior Team Tennis Section Qualifier, held June 28 and 29 at Edmond Center Court. A total of eight teams, four 14 & Under intermediate teams and four 18 & Under intermediate teams, advanced through the tournament. They will now take on other qualifiers from throughout the USTA Missouri Valley District at the Section Championships July 19 and 20, also being held at Edmond Center Court.
USTA Missouri Valley is using these new event-based programs to qualify teams to compete in the USTA Missouri Valley Junior Team Tennis Section Championships. Each Missouri Valley district participates in these qualifiers and sends their top two finishers to compete at the Section Level. Those winners will advance to the National Junior Team Tennis Championships in Orlando, Florida at the National Campus on September 29-October 2nd for 14 & Under and October 6-9 for 18 & Under.
