Oklahoma Tennis Foundation Donates to League of Exceptional Players Program
A donation from the Oklahoma Tennis Foundation (OKTF) will be used to help some of the Tulsa area’s most exceptional players. A check for $2,000 was presented this week to organizers and players who take part in The League of Exceptional Players, an adaptive tennis program at LaFortune Tennis Center for players with special needs.
OKTF Executive Director Carmen Bond was joined by other board members as they presented the donation check to the program’s director, Julie Harrelson, and the Director of Tennis for LaFortune Tennis Center, Melissa McCorkle.
“Thank you to the Oklahoma Tennis Foundation for the generous donation to our League of Exceptional Players,” McCorkle said. “Your donation helps us provide free clinics to our players as well as purchase adaptive equipment, provide healthy snacks and continue to the grow the program to include more students and additional clinics. Thank you for spreading the love all around our state!”
The League of Exceptional Players meets about four times a year for a three-day clinic and usually has up to 24 participants, joined by a partner who helps them practice basic tennis skills while focusing on the enjoyment of the game.
