USTA Oklahoma Perry Wins National Senior Olympics
Richard Perry from Enid, Oklahoma, recently won the 70s division at the National Senior Olympics held in Birmingham, Alabama. It was Perry's first time to participate in the Senior Olympics. Perry was hiking the Grand Canyon last October when Oklahoma held its state event, so he had to go to Arkansas, where he won the event to qualify for Nationals. Although Perry prevailed, he said, "there were several matches very close that could have gone either way." Perry defeated Arveal Turner in the finals 6-2, 6-1.
