What is a Team Challenge?

It is an introduction to tennis competition offering a low-pressure team environment for children of all ages to develop their skills through level-based play, without an emphasis on instruction or results.

If I have never played tennis can I do a Team Challenge?

Participants are expected to at least drop hit serve from the service line over the net or sustain a modified rally which can be rolling, trapping, bumping or hitting.

If I am not quite ready for Junior Team Tennis, should I just keep doing lessons, or is there another type of competition I can participate?

In the USTA Net Generation Junior Pathway, a Team Challenge is positioned right before Junior Team Tennis or individual tournaments.

I am a tennis provider, why should I host a Team Challenge?

As a provider, you are aligning your goals of shaping the future of the kids you teach every day with the goals of Net Generation and the USTA. Net Generation is a comprehensive development program for kids ages 5-18 that will help us grow tennis participation, instill the love of the game in future generations, and ensure that tennis remains a vibrant sport in our communities for years to come!

When is a good time to have a Team Challenge?

Several Oklahoma facilities finish their clinics with a Team Challenge. A Team Challenge is designed to be delivered as a single event or a series of up to six events, with the objective of providing a fun and social environment that highlights character and skill development, and it is a fantastic way to introduce a lifelong love of the game from the very first play opportunity.
