Saint Louis Plays Well At Team Event
District rivalry fun was in full force during the USTA Missouri Valley Boys and Girls 12s & 14s Team Event at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center over the weekend of May 25-27.
Each district in the Missouri Valley section sent one team of eight girls and one team of eight boys to the event to compete for district bragging rights. Four players from each age division (four B12, four G12, four B14, four G14) were selected by the district to play in the singles and doubles matches.
The teams finished in the following standing order:
1st: Oklahoma
2nd: Heart of America
3rd: Nebraska
4th: Saint Louis
5th: Iowa
6th: Kansas
The individuals from Saint Louis who participated were Preston Achter, Lera Alexin, Hadley Allaria, Khayli Buckels, Kayla Chan, Nathan Chan, Nicholas Chun, Eva Kasal, Owen Kizer, Rachel Li, Chandler Nelson, Austin Potter, TJ Shanahan, Allison Wayne, Mia Yin and Edward Yue.

The USTA, USTA Missouri Valley, and USTA Saint Louis recognize the importance of contributing to the development of youth players both on and off the court within a team environment. Several different youth team competitions are offered throughout the year.
