Edwardsville Futures
Come see pros as they “Rise to Glory” at one of the only professional tennis tournaments in the St. Louis area with the Edwardsville Futures, a USTA Pro Circuit event.
The 2019 Edwardsville Futures will take place August 4-11 at Edwardsville High School and feature the ATP stars of the future from all over the globe as they climb up the rankings. Players who have played in the Futures have won 31 ATP titles in the past five years. As a part of the USTA Pro Circuit, the Edwardsville Futures has been able to extend many professional tennis opportunities to both international and local athletes since its establishment in 2011.
Local former junior standout, Carson Haskins (Ballwin, Mo.) will be competing in the doubles draw after earning a wild card entry at the Edwardsville Open June 7-9.
The Edwardsville Futures is also part of the Illinois Swing, a series of Pro Circuit events played in Champaign, Decatur and Edwardsville. Players earn points in singles and doubles, and the player who earns the most points earns a $1,000 bonus.
The Futures are highly involved within the local community, with support from dozens of volunteers and business partners as well as USTA St Louis, USTA Missouri Valley, and the USTA Pro Circuit. The organization prioritizes community at its very core, as the Futures are presented by the EGHM foundation which supports local District 7 schools.
A few highlighted community-based events that are soon approaching are the Kids’ Net Generation Night on August 5, the Mitch ‘n’ Friends adaptive clinic on August 8, Fan Appreciation Day on August 9, and Family Day on August 10.
