USTA St. Louis Hosts Section Championships
The USTA Missouri Valley 2021 Section Championships will kick into high gear in St. Louis, as USTA St. Louis plays host to Adult 18 & Over 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 levels as well as the Adult 55 & Over 7.0 and 9.0 levels on August 5-8.
Teams competing at the championships earned their spots by either winning their district flight or collecting a bid via the wild-card process. To advance to the next step — the 2021 USTA League National Championships — teams must win the section title.
The event will be played at Dwight Davis Tennis Center and Westminster Christian Academy.
Jill Kunkel — USTA St. Louis adult league coordinator — said “everyone is super excited” about the upcoming event. The tournament features a full slate of competitors with the final 3.0 women’s team slot recently being filled via a wild card.
In addition to the teams that qualified for the event by claiming a title in their respective district championships, USTA St. Louis received and accepted wild-card bids for 4.0 men, 3.0 women, 3.5 women and 4.5 women. The USTA League National Championships take place in the states of Arizona, Oklahoma and Florida in October and November.
