Success At September L3 Tournaments

Two major USTA Missouri Valley junior tournaments just took place this September, both filled with good competition and good sportsmanship. The tournaments, both L3 level events, were the final two events of that level for 2020.

 

“Overall, the tournaments went very well,” said Noah Bortnick, USTA Missouri Valley Junior Competition Manager. “Based on surveys we got back, it seems like the participants had a positive experience too.”

 

The L3 USTAMV #1 tournament took place over the dates of September 5-7 and was hosted at Koch Tennis Center in Omaha, Neb. (BG 12-14), Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis, Mo. (BG 16), and Oklahoma Tennis Center in Oklahoma City, Okla. (BG 18). 

 

The winners in each division are listed below: 

 

Boys 12s: Austin Potter, USTA Missouri

Girls 12s: Kate Kimes, USTA Missouri

Boys 14s: Cooper Woestendick, USTA Heart of America

Girls 14s: Mithila Dixit, USTA Heart of America

Boys 16s:  Nicholas Fischer, USTA St. Louis

Girls 16s: Amber Yin, USTA St. Louis

Boys 18s: Gus Tettamble, USTA St. Louis

Girls 18s: Tanya Fan, USTA Iowa

 

The L3 USTAMV #2 event fell over the weekend of September 12-14 and was again hosted by Koch Tennis Center (BG 12), Dwight Davis Tennis Center (BG 14), and Oklahoma City Tennis Center (BG 18), with the addition of Edmond Tennis Center in Edmond, Okla. (BG 16). 

 

The winners in each division were as follows: 

 

Boys 12s: Krishna Bhadriraju, USTA Oklahoma

Girls 12s: Briana Rademacher, USTA Nebraska

Boys 14s: Cooper Woestendick, USTA Heart of America

Girls 14s: Emerey Gross, USTA St. Louis

Boys 16s: Humza Noor, USTA Heart of America

Girls 16s: Amber Yin, USTA Missouri

Boys 18s: Declan Galligan, USTA Iowa

Girls 18s: Adella Castaner, USTA Heart of America
