USTA Missouri Valley Welcomes 2023-2024 Board of Directors
USTA Missouri Valley is excited to welcome its new Board of Directors beginning in January 2023. Each slate serves a two year term, so the new board members will serve in 2023 and 2024. The Board of Directors consists of the Executive Committee and the president of each district.
Steve Henry steps into the president's role, with Alex Lee serving as the First Vice President. They will be joined by Vice President Kimberly Y. Hughes Gill, Vice President Terry Jackson, Secretary Deb Fabrizius and Treasurer Beth Causey. Jason Mathes rounds out the slate as the Immediate Past President and Section Delegate. They are joined by the following district presidents: Tracey Johnson (USTA Heart of America), Brenton Kuchera (USTA Iowa), Cary Morris (USTA Kansas), Mallory Weber (USTA Missouri), Mike Willman (USTA Nebraska), Mary Jo Tasker (USTA Oklahoma) and John Kelly (USTA St. Louis).
The new board was approved and officially introduced at the USTA Missouri Valley Annual Conference in December 2022. These individuals will look to guide the section to continued success over the next two years. Congratulations to each member! We look forward to seeing what you'll accomplish over the next few years.
Meet Our New President
Our new president, Steve Henry is the Director of Tennis at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center. He has been serving as a volunteer for the past 16 years across various areas of the USTA. He started on the USTA Oklahoma board and has worked his way up the volunteer ladder to this point, most recently serving at the USTA Missouri Valley First Vice President. Outside of being a board memeber, Henry has also been on the USTA Missouri Valley Personell Committee and League Grievance Committee.
He has also served as the USTA Oklahoma President, as well as serving on three National committees: Junior Team Tennis, Adult League and Junior Competition.
Henry has been instrumental in bringing USTA League National Championships to USTA Missouri Valley. He has now hosted eight National Championships at Oklahoma City Tennis Center during his tenure there. Other professional accomplishments include being the Tournament Director for more than 100 tournaments, including district, section and national tournaments, along with pro circuit events.
Henry is a multiple section award winner, earning the USTA Missouri Valley Distinguished Service award in 2018 and the Facility of the Year Award in 2021. He also won the USTA National Facility of the Year Award for Large Facilities in 2016 for his incredible work at Oklahoma City Tennis Center.
