U.S. boys' team finish fourth, girls third at 2026 World Team Cup: Junior Festival
The first-ever standalone BNP Paribas World Team Cup Juniors event in Knokke-Heist, Belgium, saw the American boys' team finish in fourth place, after losing in the consolation (3rd-4th place) match to Australia 2-0. The girls' team placed third in wheelchair tennis’ premier junior international team competition. The inaugural event saw Great Britain take home the boys' crown while the girls' team from Japan finished atop the standings.
"It just feels so surreal in such a short time. This has been one of my biggest goals to complete as a Junior,” said Jeremy Perez. “Think about it: a 15-year-old representing Team USA rivaling the top seeds in the world while being the underdog! Getting to showcase my talent on a stage like this makes me even more hungry to become the best in the world.”
"I was very honored to be able to represent team USA. It really showed all of the hard work that I put in and how much I care for this sport,” said Mattingly Bristow. “I never thought that this is something that I would be able to do."
"I feel so blessed to be representing the United States at the world team cup and to be able to play this awesome sport," said Spencer Davis.
“It was a huge honor to represent team USA as a player who played multiple sports,” said Lily Terral. “I wouldn't have been here without all my coaches and teammates throughout the journey.”
World Team Cup is the ITF’s flagship wheelchair tennis event, the wheelchair equivalent to Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup and featured fifteen teams (9 boys & 6 girls) from 10 countries.
