U.S. team named for BNP Paribas World Team Cup: Junior Festival
The United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced the players who will represent the United States at the BNP Paribas World Team Cup: Junior Festival, May 27-31, in Knokke-Heist, Belgium. For the first-time ever, the junior division will have separate boys' and girls' events.
Representing the U.S. for the boys are Spencer Davis (McLean, Va.), Matthew Nadauld (Bountiful, Utah), Jeremy Perez (Joshua, Texas) and Noah Schepman (Germantown, Tenn.). The girls' team will feature: returning junior, Lucy Heald (Lookout Mountain, Ga.) along with newcomers Mattingly Bristow (Weatherford, Texas), Lily Terral (Houston) and Elliana Blaine (Andover, Minn.). The Americans will look to hoist the boys and girls junior trophy after falling to Great Britain in the combined final last year.
World Team Cup is the ITF’s flagship wheelchair tennis event, the wheelchair equivalent to Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup. Fifteen teams (9 boys & 6 girls) from ten countries are set to contest the BNP Paribas Junior World Team Cup World Group. The junior events start with a round-robin group format before the top nations in each round-robin group go forward to the knockout stages to decide the medals and final positions.

The USTA was officially designated by the USOPC as the national governing body for the Paralympic sport of wheelchair tennis in June 2002, becoming the first Olympic national governing body to earn this recognition. As the national governing body for wheelchair tennis, the USTA manages wheelchair tennis in the United States, including the sanctioning of tournaments, overseeing wheelchair rankings, creating and managing a High Performance program for developing elite disabled athletes, and selecting teams to compete internationally for the United States.
