2020 New England High School Tennis Coaches Conference

Registration is now open for the 2020 New England High School Tennis Coaches conference.  This conference is for tennis professionals, high school tennis coaches or volunteers in New England who work with high school players or wants to get more involved with the game. The conference features a variety of topics to help improve your skills. The conference provides a great opportunity to meet and network with tennis coaches in New England and beyond! 

 

Lunch will be provided for all attendees.

Brian Parkkonen- Chief Operating Officer, PTR

"Purposeful Warm-ups: Organizing your warm-up for measurable success"

As Chief Operating Officer (COO), Brian oversees all organizational development and staff collaboration. His main priorities are to ensure the highest quality standards are in place and upheld creating a unified and efficient approach to the overall member experience. Additionally, Brian oversees the educational direction and content of PTR’s four pathways to certification, as well as all aspects of the Level 3 and Master of Tennis programs. He is responsible for PTR clinician training to ensure continuity of content delivery, and design. Lastly, Brian is responsible for the development of new educational content as well as ensuring a cutting edge technological approach to coach education continues to evolve.

 

Brian has been a recognized keynote presenter around the world, presenting in countries including Bulgaria, China, Qatar, Norway, Mexico and the U.K. Brian has earned the PTR Master of Tennis distinction and is a Clinician in all four PTR education and certification pathways. Additionally, he is certified as both an Etcheberry Strength and Conditioning Coach and USTA High Performance Coach. Brian started his career at the Van der Meer World Class Academy as Academy Head Pro and Director of College Placement. He has spent time directing some of the largest Public, Private and Academy programs in the US as well as being the primary coach for multiple WTA players. Brian was selected by the USTA as Head Coach for Junior Cup, Southerns and Zonals, and is the former Chair for USTA South Carolina Player Development.

Mr. Fish led Harvard tennis for 42 years as head coach, and was the second-longest tenured coach in Harvard history. He served on the Board of Directors of the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association), and served on numerous USTA committees. He has been inducted into the USTA New England Hall of Fame and the ITA Hall of Fame. He is a thought leader on the player development pathway between amateur, collegiate and interscholastic tennis.

 

Michele Krause- Founder of Cardio Tennis

“How to Incorporate Fitness into your Team Practices”

 

Michele Krause is a tennis fitness integrative specialist, the owner of inTENNSity fitness and Founder of Cardio Tennis.  

 

InTENNSity fitness is a group fitness class maximizing ideal heart rate training through the vehicle of tennis. It is a standardized unique experience with new releases approximately every 2 months. 

 

Michele was the Global Education Director for Cardio Tennis for 15 years. She Founded the Cardio Tennis program in 2005 and under her leadership it became a global product and was the only tennis program in the US showing continuous and significant year after year growth. 

 

Michele is an experienced international speaker and trainer who has presented at industry events all over the world (USPTA, IHRSA, ITA, PTR, ITF, PBI, USTA, LTA, Tennis Australia, TOM conference), and has delivered over 500 educational courses to tennis and fitness professionals. 

 

Michele has been featured on the Tennis Channel’s “One Minute Clinics” and “On court with USPTA” as well as NBC’s “the Biggest Loser”. She has implemented the “Get Fit Wichita” and “Million Calorie burn” special events.  

 

Michele is a USPTA and PTR tennis professional who managed tennis facilities throughout the US for over 16 years. She is certified in TRX Suspension Training, Combine 360, Pat Etcheberry and RacquetFit. Michele received the TIA/PTR Industry Excellence award in 2012, the Tennis Industry Service award in 2018, and the USPTA Florida Pro of the Year award in 2018.
