NTRP National Championships Players Needed

In 2018, the USTA launched a new national adult tournament that leverages the NTRP rating system as a way to create level-based competition at the 18 & over and 50 & over age groups.   

 

USTA Northern is actively seeking players to fill the following ages and NTRP levels for the upcoming NTRP National Championships:

 

Men:

 

3.0 Men - 18 & Over doubles and 50 & Over doubles.
4.5 Men - 50 & Over singles and 50 & Over doubles.

5.0 Men - 18 & Over doubles.

 

Women:

 

3.0 Women - 18 & Over singles; 18 & Over doubles; 50 & Over doubles.

3.5 Women - 50 & Over singles.

4.5 Women - 18 & Over doubles.

5.0 Women - 18 & Over singles and 18 & Over doubles.

About the NTRP National Championships:

  • Non-elimination draws with two matches per day Friday through Sunday
  • Fast Four: Best-of-three sets to four games, no-ad scoring, tiebreak at 3-3 all
  • Tiebreak is first to 5 points, win by one
  • Eight four-player round robins play into four eight-player, single-elimination draws

 

NTRP Validation

 

All of the following ratings will be accepted: 

  • 2017 Year End Computer Rating (or “C” rating).
  • If you do not have a 2017 Year End Computer Rating, you may qualify with your 2016 Year End Computer Rating.  If you do not have a 2016 Year End Computer Rating, you may qualify with your 2015 Year End Computer Rating.
  • 2017 Year End Tournament Exclusive Rating (or “T” rating)
  • Self rated players do not qualify.

 

Age Qualification: Players must have turned the required age or older in 2018.
