Jim Warren Mourned
Jim Warren, USTA Southern Board of Directors Director at Large, passed on August 9.
USTA Southern President Randy Jackson wrote to USTA Southern volunteers and staff, "It is with great shock and a heavy heart that I report the passing of Jim Warren yesterday. We are all grieving with Malinda and Jim’s family. Our love and prayers are with them.
"Besides being a highly accomplished and respected attorney in Jackson MS, Jim was an incredible volunteer for USTA Southern, serving in many capacities over the years. Just some of his tennis accomplishments include service to USTA Mississippi as Grievance Committee Chair, Area Director, tennis official and as President of USTA Mississippi (2015 – 2016). "For USTA National, during this term, Jim was serving as a member of the Constitution and Rules Committee.
"For Southern, prior to this term, Jim was a member of the Adult League Committee, and had chaired the NTRP Grievance Committee and Play It Forward Task Force. He had also chaired the Constitution and Rules committee. For this term, Jim was serving on the USTA Southern Board of Directors. Jim was a very active and conscientious board member who often reached out to board members with encouragement and offers to assist. He also had a strong interest in making USTA Southern a more diverse and welcoming organization. He was our Board’s 'Diversity Advocate.'
"Jim Warren will be greatly missed."
